Be Ready for Adventure #
Working at camp is full-on, fun, and sometimes unpredictable. Having the right kit means you can focus on leading sessions, supporting children, and enjoying the experience without stress.
This list covers what you’ll need every day. Some items are essential, others are “nice-to-haves” depending on your role and the weather.
Uniform & Clothing #
- Adventure Camps staff T-shirts (provided at camp)
- Comfortable trousers/shorts (no ripped jeans or offensive logos)
- Trainers suitable for running and sports
- Warm layers (hoodie/fleece for cooler mornings/evenings)
- Waterproof jacket & trousers (we run outdoors, rain or shine)
- Hat & sunglasses for sunny days
- Spare socks (trust us, you’ll thank yourself after pool sessions or wet games)
Essentials for the Day #
- Lanyard & ID badge (provided)
- Watch (essential for keeping sessions on time)
- Reusable water bottle (stay hydrated)
- Packed lunch & snacks (unless otherwise provided at your site)
- Small backpack or bag to carry personal items
Pool & Specialist Zones #
If your site includes swimming or specialist activities:
- Swimwear (modest & practical, no bikinis/speedos)
- Swim T’shirt (provided at camp)
- Towel
- Flip-flops or pool shoes
- Hair ties for long hair
- Zone-specific kit (e.g. arts apron, whistle for sports leaders — provided where needed)
Safety & Practical Bits #
- Sun cream (factor 30+ recommended)
- Hand sanitiser
- Personal medication (inhalers, EpiPens etc — inform your Site Manager)
- Small notebook & pen (for session notes, reminders)
Please Don’t Bring #
- Expensive jewellery, tech, or valuables
- AirPods/earphones while on duty
- Inappropriate clothing (crop tops, offensive prints, flip-flops during activities)
Quick Tip #
Keep a spare set of clothes in your bag or car. Mud, paint, or pool water are part of camp life — being able to change means you stay comfortable all day.
